Business Operations Manager Atlanta GA

Our client is a woman owned, full-service, architectural, planning and interior design firm. Due to their growth, they are adding a Business Operations Manager in North Atlanta to their thriving, friendly team. This position is in the office Monday-Thursday, with Fridays remote. The primary function of the Business Operations Manager is to work with the CEO and management team to assure smooth and efficient operations of the office. This person will wear multiple hats and will work directly with the CEO to successfully execute strategic initiatives, build operational processes and work with the team to ensure business goals are met. The ideal candidate will be a person who thrives in a collaborative, fast paced environment, and can effectively multi-task.


Employee/ HR
• Payroll; review and run payroll twice a month utilizing online payroll service Gusto
• Oversee remote work schedules and hourly employee’s schedules
• Oversee employee expenses
• Oversee recruiting efforts of architectural staff, track employee utilization and determine manpower needs for upcoming work
• Organize intra-office events and facilitate team building; minimum 2 annual events, bi-
monthly happy hours, monthly team building, regular employee appreciation lunches and team deadline celebrations
• Manage employee engagement, oversee overhead travel by out-of-state employees
• Manage Human Resource efforts in conjunction with 3rd -party HR consultant including maintenance of employee handbook
• Onboard new employees and oversee ongoing performance related to company
standards and processes
• Oversee continuing education throughout the firm including overseeing an office
calendar of vendor sponsored CEU lunch n’ learns
• Oversee employee benefits

• Work in BQE Core to input consultant invoices, produce Invoices, produce
financial reports, maintain budgets, and perform basic bookkeeping tasks
• Work with outsourced accounting firm to provide financial information for reporting and
• Perform financial projections and create and oversee overhead budgets
• Oversee timely consultant and vendor payments via ACH or wire transfer
• Create and monitor KPI’s and monitor financial data to make suggestions to improve
• Assist outsourced accounting firm in monitoring tax compliance

• Manage agendas of bi-weekly manager and staff meetings.
• Oversee outsourced IT management
• Manage business licenses and architectural licenses, insurance requirements and other credentials of the firm
• Perform construction contract reviews and communicate with outsourced attorneys to
ensure the company’s best interests
• Maintain consultant and vendor relationships and credentials
• Assist in project proposals and responses to Requests for Proposals
• Assist in overseeing the Administrative Assistant’s performance


• Previous experience as a Business Operations Manager or in a similar role
• Good knowledge of operations management
• Experience with forecasting models
• Experience with databases and project management software
• The ability to interpret financial data and allocate budgets
• Exceptional communication skills
• BSc in Business Management or relevant field
• Architecture or Construction Office Experience is a plus
• Experience with BQE Core is a plus, willingness to learn is mandatory
• Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 and Office Products (Outlook, Planner, Word,
PowerPoint, Excel) is required

COMPENSATION: 100k salary plus opportunity to bonus; health insurance; unlimited PTO.
