We have been engaged by Community Connections, a nonprofit foster care agency located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, to add a Director of Finance and Administration to their caring team.  This position provides strong leadership to maintain financial and data oversight, business operations, human resources, and general office management.  If you possess a high EQ and a passion for service, this is the opportunity for you! 

The role requires being in the Stone Mountain office once a week for the first 90 days, and then can be remote.  Must live in Metro Atlanta.

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a high quality of collaboration and exceptional customer service to vendors, foster parents, and employees
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of financial tasks in Quickbooks Online
  • Responsible for financial reporting and ongoing development and analysis of the agency’s annual operating budget and monthly profit and loss and balance sheet to the Board of Directors
  • Keeps the Executive Director apprised of significant trends, variance, budget deviations, bank account levels, and key financial indicators while identifying whether purchases are within budget and consistent with financial resources
  • Ensure accurate recording of agency fixed assets and prepares timely 1099’s
  • Ensure oversight and completion of high quality bookkeeping services, including a timely collection of accounts receivables
  • Responsible for leadership and direction of internal financial controls and the compliance and ongoing development of financial and fundraising policies and goals for the agency’s strategic plan
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payroll, taxes, benefits, and other human resource transactions
  • Serve as a liaison with the agency’s Payroll Service, Benefits Broker, 401K provider, Insurance provider, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and other identified providers
  • Serve as a liaison for various office management needs including computers, telephones, and electronic newsletter and website maintenance, and general office maintenance
  • Responsible for new employee onboarding for payroll and benefits
  • Responsible for accurate and timely review of data and reports to ensure licensure and contract compliance in DHS database and entry of data in Community Connections, Inc. database
  • Responsible for leadership and direct supervision, and performance evaluations of Bookkeeper. Ensure clear team goals with a delegation of tasks and that employees are held accountable for accurate and timely completion of job duties and quality services that are in compliance with standards
  • May perform the same functions as the Bookkeeper as outlined, and to be the back up when needed.

Job Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of five years of prior experience with basic bookkeeping functions. One year of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks Online

Compensation: 90-100k salary, comprehensive benefits package,  25 days PTO, 14 Paid Holidays and 401K Match
