Our client, located in Blue Ridge, GA is a leading tax firm dedicated to providing exceptional financial services to their clients. They are currently seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to join their dynamic team.  

This position offers the opportunity to work remotely!  You must live in the Eastern or Central time zone to be considered for this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and review complex tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
  • Tax Planning: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize clients’ tax liabilities while optimizing their financial positions.
  • Client Advisory: Provide expert tax advice and guidance to clients, addressing their unique tax challenges and opportunities.
  • Research: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations, conducting research to ensure clients receive the most current and relevant advice.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including accountants and advisors, to provide comprehensive financial services to clients.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong client relationships, demonstrating exceptional communication and client service skills.
  • Quality Assurance: Review the work of junior staff to ensure accuracy and adherence to tax regulations and company standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development of best practices within the tax department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or EA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, with a focus on complex tax returns.
  • Proficiency in tax software, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong commitment to professional development and staying current with industry trends.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • $85-95k salary based upon experience and qualifications

  • Dues for Georgia Society of CPAs and any CPE required by state law is paid in full. CPE training time may be done on company time. (QuickBooks certification/recertification time must be done outside of business hours.)
